Important Notices from Mrs. Muller

Please keep your child home for any temp over 100.0, vomiting or diarrhea. A child must be free from symptoms for 24 hours (without medication) before returning to school.
I encourage good communication! Please keep me informed of any new medical issues or if something is going on at home. I'm here to help and will be able to help more if I know what’s going on.
All medications require a Doctor's order—even over the counter medications! An adult must bring the medication to school. Please don't send it on the bus with your child.
We are striving to become a Nut Free school! Please remember that outside food must be purchased (not homemade) and have a label attached with ingredients. If you send a snack in a ziplock bag, please include a label and be nut free. A safe snack guide list can be found at www.snacksafely.com. Of course, peanut butter sandwiches are still a great option for lunch in the cafeteria (not a nut free area), but classrooms need to be nut-free to keep our allergy students safe. Consider a non-food option for birthday celebrations/holidays that are celebrated. Stickers, pencils, and small toys make a great choice.
Birthday Treats must be store bought and have a label with ingredients. Treats that contain nuts will not be allowed to be shared in the classrooms. Please see the student handbook for further details.
Parents may write a note to excuse from Phys. Ed. for up to 2 classes. After 2 days a doctor’s note will be required to stay out of PE. A second note is then needed when they may resume class.
Health Assessments/Physicals are required for PK, KR, K, 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th grades. The physical is good for 1 calendar year.
Vision and hearing screening is done annually for K, 1, 3, 5, and 7th grades. Scoliosis screens are done for girls in grades 5 and 7 and boys in grade 9. I will call if a referral is needed.
If you receive a paper about an illness in the classroom, please try to save it for 30 days to watch for the signs and symptoms listed. If your child is diagnosed with a contagious illness (ex. strep throat, pink eye etc.), please report that to me or the main office.
I will call to inform you of any serious injury. Please be sure to have the emergency card filled out with the best numbers to reach you. I also call home for any head bump/injury. Keeping you informed helps our students succeed.
